Advice I Would Give 17-Year-Old Me

Image
If I could go back in time to about two and a half years ago and give myself advice, I would tell myself to start preparing sooner for college. Waiting until the last minute to prepare for college can cause a lot of stress, and by starting early, you can reduce some of that stress. This includes applying for college sooner, so you have plenty of time to take the next steps. Also, make sure to apply for orientation and housing on time so you don't miss out on the orientation session you want or the housing you want. Overall, getting a head start never hurts, and it is especially helpful when preparing for college!

Getting Prepared for College!

Hey Future Jags! Getting prepared for college is something extremely important to be doing, especially within your last several weeks of high school. Making sure everything is lined up and ready after high school will make for a very easy and smooth transition into college. I have created a list of 5 things that I think are super important for the transition to college life, and I hope they help any of you Future Jags out there who can't wait to be a student here at South Alabama. 1) Meet with your high school counselors. This is important in making sure you know when your final transcript will sent out, and asking any questions you may have before you graduate. 2) Make sure to have your South Alabama recruitment counselor's information on hand for any questions you might have before you get to South. Our recruitment counselor's here are extremely helpful in making sure you get all the information you're looking for. You can find your specific recruitment counselor&

My Favorite Outdoor Place on Campus

It's Spring time here at South, and I couldn't be more excited! I absolutely love the warm weather and being outdoors during this season. My all time favorite place to be on campus during this time of the year is definitely the nature trails. They have several different trails, and they are extremely easy to follow. Along with that, there are informative plaques along the way so you can learn about the plant-life/animal-life that you may encounter along the way. I especially take advantage of these trails when I need a break from studying so I can get a breath of fresh air and take in the warmth of the season.
